Mild Flavors

Mild and flavorful dishes

Gentle, approachable dishes with no spice — all comfort.

If chili-based seasonings are unfamiliar, there is no need to push yourself from the first meal. These foods are helpful when your stomach is sensitive after a long flight, when choosing a restaurant with children, or when looking for a safe reference point among many side dishes. Rather than sharp heat, these menus highlight the sweetness and nuttiness of rice, egg, meat, and broth. Since relatively familiar seasonings such as Soy Sauce and salt are central, they are good to eat slowly with rice.

Steamed Egg is a soft steamed dish eaten with a spoon; it is hot, but easy to swallow. Samgyetang is made by simmering chicken for a long time, giving it a rich broth and tender meat that make it a filling meal. Beef Bulgogi is thinly sliced beef marinated in Soy Sauce seasoning and grilled for a sweet-savory taste; eaten with leafy wraps or rice, it lets you ease into the flow of a Korean meal without pressure.
